Overview
In the not-too-distant future, people begin to exhibit extraordinary super powers. As more and more normal folks become “super,” the political landscape across the world begins to change.
In this game, you will take on the role of a normal person who suddenly finds themselves developing superhuman abilities. Perhaps you can shoot lasers from your eyes, summon plant elementals from the depths of the forest, or lift a city bus with one hand. Whatever your powers are, it probably means that your office job is no longer a priority in your life.
This game will be run with a very “action movie” mentality. We’re playing super heroes, so physics and logic will align more with comic books and Marvel movies than they will with reality. Need to stop a train? Pulling a Hulk and ramming into it will probably bring the train to a halt to instead of just turning you and all the passengers into jelly (that is, of course, assuming the dice favor you).
Savage Worlds
This game will be using the Savage Worlds game system to handle our rules. We’ll be using the Savage Worlds Adventure Edition core rules (SWADE) and the Savage Worlds Super Powers Companion (Second Edition) for super powers. Please note that the Super Powers Companion is a bit old at this point in time and it has not been updated for the latest version of SWADE, but don’t worry, things are pretty easy to convert if you find something you want to use that doesn’t quite fit right. Also, as a general rule, if there is a conflict in the rules between the core book and the Super Powers Companion, we’ll probably want to go with the core book since it’s newer, but please do feel free to get in contact and we can discuss how to handle the discrepancy.
Setting
This adventure takes place in a fictional version of CITY in the very near future.
