Entry – Yukihyo and Tal Hil use Vesfaah’s contacts to get hired on as performers. Tilij enters as a very fancy mouse.
Tilij heads to the bathroom and poofs back to elephant man. Yukihyo preps for her performance and Tal Hil starts handling the stage lights.
Yukihyo does a circuit around the ball room to get the lay of the land.
Tilij follows his nose to the stoner Rhino’s room and settles into the mud bath.
Yukihyo heads up on stage to perform and Tal Hil sends out his invisible spy drone to check out the upper level.
Yukihyo’s performance is well received and triggers 2 wild magic surges:
Tilij gets the hiccups in his mud bath.
Tal Hil’s drone spots a tipped over wooden stool on the second floor that turns into a very confused half-elf in a poof of magical smoke a moment later.
Yukihyo’s performance ends and she gets a nod from the Countess and a chorus of applause from the party-goers.
Yukihyo flutters around the room making introductions. She speaks briefly with Wojek Norren and his Boros contingency.
Tilij makes an off-handed comment about the party that makes the Rhox smoking the hookah laugh.
The Rhox invites Tilij over to his table (and his smoking aparatus) and introduces himself as Votary Brirumon. Tilij and Brirumon share a pleasant bit of time swapping stories and getting more and more intoxicated.
After meeting the Boros group, Yukihyo decides that they and Tilij might get along, so she heads off to collect him.
Before she can get to Tilij, a dapper young gentleman approaches Yukhio and asks her to dance. He introduces himself as Baron Donovan Silas and he explains that he was rather enraptured by Yukhio’s performance.
Yukhio asks Baron Silas for a rain check since she is on a mission to make a connection between Tilij and the Boros folks. Baron Silas accepts and points out his table in case Yukhio wants to find him later in the evening.
Tilij is happy (if a bit confused) to accompany Yukhio as she deposits him at the Boros table.
As Tilij starts talking with the Boros folk, sharing a few awkward anecdotes. The Boros open up to Tilij and reveal that they are here as semi-official peace-keepers and a group of Boros soldiers are usually assigned to these sorts of events as observers so that they can verify that no skullduggery is taking place. It is clear that they have been invited out of obligation and they’re not super thrilled to be here. The hosts have also tucked their table away in a rather awkward spot, making it clear that they are also not terribly happy about having to have invited a security force.
Yukhio goes over to Baron Silas’ table and takes him up on the rain-checked dance. During the dance, Yukhio exhibits a bit more of her performer’s knack and casts Fly on herself and Baron Silas so that they may take their dance to the air. As the pair circle the room, Yukhio creates illusory snowflakes that begin to fall from their feet as they glide around the ballroom. The other guests all take notice and clear space on the floor as people watch the dance as though it were another performance. As the dance ends, and the dancers return to the ground, Baron Silas is giddy and completely flustered. It is clear that Baron Silas has not enjoyed himself that much in quite a long time. If there were any doubt in his infatuation with Yukhio before, it has now melted away.
